Blackout for Human Rights to Hold 4th Annual #BlackoutBlackFriday Boycott

On Friday November 24th, the biggest retail shopping day of the year also known as “Black Friday,” Blackout for Human Rights will kick off its fourth annual #BlackoutBlackFriday campaign, urging people nationwide to take part in an economic boycott of major retailers, and any corporations that violate human rights standards, and/or profit off the pain and suffering of others.

ELLE Magazine Announced As Official Media Partner of “SHE”

Today, during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the creators of the acclaimed play “SHE” have announced ELLE Magazine as the official media partner for the production, which will run at HERE Arts Center (145 6th Ave) in Manhattan from May 5th-21st. TIDAL & Harry Belafonte’s SANKOFA.ORG Premiere Visual EP “17”

Today SANKOFA.org, the social justice organization founded by Harry Belafonte, has announced that the audio version of its new Visual EP “17”, featuring music by artists Ty Dolla $ign, Raphael Saadiq, Mali Music and Elijah Blake, is now available on all DSPs. The Visual EP, which made its official February 17th premiere on TIDAL, seeks to raise funds to support grassroots organizing efforts around issues of racial and social justice. Read more

Nearly $156,000 has been raised from Blackout for Human Right‘s #JUSTICEFORFLINT event, where more than 2,000 people — the majority of which were Flint residents — packed the The Whiting Auditorium Sunday night in Flint, Michigan.
